6-6+ in Combined Science or 6 in Biology plus a 6 in another science
Good personal performance in one sport
Evidence of competing regularly in selected sport is essential to fulfill the practical requirements of this course
Plus the standard LaSWAP entry requirements for our A level pathway
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
A level PE lessons are all theory based. Students need to be competing outside of school in at least one sport as they will be required to provide video evidence for assessment and complete a weekly performance log for the exam.

LEARNING AND SKILLS
Learners will be equipped with both a depth and breadth of knowledge, understanding and skills relating to scientific, socio-cultural and practical aspects of physical education. This requires them to:
- Develop theoretical knowledge and understanding of the factors that underpin physical activity and sport and use this knowledge to improve performance
- Understand how physiological and psychological states affect performance
- Understand the key socio-cultural factors that influence people’s involvement in physical activity and sport
- Understand the role of technology in physical activity and sport
- Develop their ability to analyse and evaluate to improve performance
- Improve as effective and independent learners and as critical and reflective thinkers with curious and enquiring minds

PE A level can support applications to undergraduate degrees in sports studies & science, sports business and management, and allied health, plus many others.
