COURSE SPECIFICATION
Level 3 mathematical studies (Core Maths) is a qualification designed for students who have achieved a grade 5 or above at GCSE.
It helps to develop students’ mathematical skills and thinking and supports courses such as A-level psychology, sciences and geography, as well as technical and vocational qualifications.

LEARNING AND SKILLS
* Critical analysis of data, for example data presented in politics and the media
* Communicating numerical data based on real contexts using graphs and indicators such as averages and measures of spread
* Use of technology to analyse, process and present numerical data
* Application of mathematical ideas to real financial contexts including loans and taxation
* Making quick estimates of large numbers from limited information
* Using project management techniques including critical path analysis and Gantt charts
