What is early entry?

Early Entry refers to any course at Oxford or Cambridge universities or in medicine, dentistry or veterinary science.  They are called 'early entry' as they have an earlier deadline than other undergraduate courses; mid-October instead of mid-January.

Laura Pearcey, Associate Director for LaSWAP, hosted two webinars in December 2025 for current Year 12 students interested in applying for early entry courses, and their families.  The webinar recording can be found on our YouTube channel: see Webinars page for details.

The webinar covered the application process, what colleges want from an application, entry requirements, interviews and pre-assessments.

We are running events for early entrants starting in January 2026.  This includes the University of Cambridge Girton College scheme and our Royal Free work experience scheme for medics. Please see the Newsletter or ask your tutor or Head of Year for details.
